Have you not seen how your Lord extends the shade—He could have simply made it ˹remain˺ still if He so willed—then We make the sun its guide,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Have you not considered your Lord - how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.1
— Saheeh International
causing the shade to retreat gradually?1
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Then We [retract and] hold it with Us for a brief grasp.1
— Saheeh International
He is the One Who has made the night for you as a cover, and ˹made˺ sleep for resting, and the day for rising.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing1 and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.2
— Saheeh International
And He is the One Who sends the winds ushering in His mercy, and We send down pure rain from the sky,

And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy [i.e., rainfall], and We send down from the sky pure water
— Saheeh International
giving life to a lifeless land, and providing water for countless animals and humans of Our Own creation.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
— Saheeh International
We certainly disperse it among them so they may be mindful, but most people persist in ungratefulness.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded,1 but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
— Saheeh International
Had We willed, We could have easily sent a warner to every society.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.1
— Saheeh International
So do not yield to the disbelievers, but strive diligently against them with this ˹Quran˺.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with it [i.e., the Qur’ān] a great striving.
— Saheeh International
And He is the One Who merges the two bodies of water: one fresh and palatable and the other salty and bitter, placing between them a barrier they cannot cross.1
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
— Saheeh International
And He is the One Who creates human beings from a ˹humble˺ liquid,1 then establishes for them bonds of kinship and marriage. For your Lord is Most Capable.

And it is He who has created from water [i.e., semen] a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
— Saheeh International
Yet they worship besides Allah what can neither benefit nor harm them. And the disbeliever always collaborates against their Lord.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
But they worship rather than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
