and give food—despite their desire for it—to the poor, the orphan, and the captive,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And they give food in spite of love for it1 to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
— Saheeh International
˹saying to themselves,˺ “We feed you only for the sake of Allah, seeking neither reward nor thanks from you.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
[Saying], "We feed you only for the face [i.e., approval] of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.
— Saheeh International
We fear from our Lord a horribly distressful Day.”
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful."
— Saheeh International
So Allah will deliver them from the horror of that Day, and grant them radiance and joy,
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness
— Saheeh International
and reward them for their perseverance with a Garden ˹in Paradise˺ and ˹garments of˺ silk.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments].
— Saheeh International
There they will be reclining on ˹canopied˺ couches, never seeing scorching heat or bitter cold.1
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
[They will be] reclining therein on adorned couches. They will not see therein any [burning] sun or [freezing] cold.
— Saheeh International
The Garden’s shade will be right above them, and its fruit will be made very easy to reach.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance.
— Saheeh International
They will be waited on with silver vessels and cups of crystal—
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass],
— Saheeh International
crystalline silver, filled precisely as desired.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure.
— Saheeh International
And they will be given a drink ˹of pure wine˺ flavoured with ginger
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger
— Saheeh International
from a spring there, called Salsabîl.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
[From] a fountain within it [i.e., Paradise] named Salsabeel.
