Then they turned on each other, throwing blame.

Then they approached one another, blaming each other.
— Saheeh International
They said, “Woe to us! We have certainly been transgressors.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.
— Saheeh International
We trust our Lord will give us a better garden than this, ˹for˺ we are indeed turning to our Lord with hope.”1
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."1
— Saheeh International
That is the ˹way of Our˺ punishment ˹in this world˺. But the punishment of the Hereafter is certainly far worse, if only they knew.1

Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.
— Saheeh International
Indeed, the righteous will have the Gardens of Bliss with their Lord.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.
— Saheeh International
Should We then treat those who have submitted like the wicked?
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?
— Saheeh International
What is the matter with you? How do you judge?
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?
— Saheeh International
Or do you have a scripture, in which you read
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Or do you have a scripture in which you learn
— Saheeh International
that you will have whatever you choose?
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
That indeed for you is whatever you choose?
— Saheeh International
Or do you have oaths binding on Us until the Day of Judgment that you will have whatever you decide?
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?
— Saheeh International
Ask them ˹O Prophet˺ which of them can guarantee all that.
— Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran
Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.
— Saheeh International
